One of the biggest things we have finished is our fantastic art for the Discovery School Art Exhibition which is opening next Wednesday night with a wine and cheese evening for parents. Tickets are $5 from the office. Gather some friends together for a great night out.
The children have worked hard on their collages. They would brighten up any room or make great presents. Each artwork is available for sale of $20. All proceeds go to the DSPTA which is raising money for new playgrounds at school.
Big thanks to Lucy and Chase who shared about the art exhibition at school assembly this afternoon. You both spoke with confidence in front of the whole school. I'm very proud of you. Josh and six other students from all over the junior syndicate showed their artworks too. Well done everyone!
Congratulations to more great readers who have completed many nights of reading. Congratulations also to all the swimmers reading group who are now reading at the top of Gold. Everyone is moving towards their goals really well.
Room VH have also been working hard on their wearable art costumes for next term's Return to Planet WoW Wearable Arts whole school performance. Next week we will be having two making afternoons on Wednesday and Friday. If you are free please come along and help.
This week we have been learning about narrative stories with our major focus on Jack and the Beanstalk. We have explored the characters and seen different versions of the traditional story. It has been lots of fun. Come in and see our new letters to Jack display.
