End of Term 3 Fun!

Wow - the last nine weeks have flown in Room VH.  It has been such a great term with so many exciting things like gymnastics, swimming, art, making and even baking.

Yesterday we had our syndicate market day.  What a great success.  A HUGE BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR SUPPORTING US.  Our syndicate raised over $900 towards our EOTC week in Term 4.

Today in class we made pizza bases.  Enjoy our slideshow of how we used yeast to make our pizza bases.  We saw the yeast mixture get foamy and bubbly.  People got to knead the dough and then they all shaped the pizzas into shapes.  Boy they were yum!

This week we also wrote some awesome book reports of some of our favourite book we read during our Chapter Book Challenge.

The Chapter Book Challenge has been amazing.  The kids read 427 chapter books this term.   I am so impressed with all the kids they read and read and read.  Big big congratulations to Hannah, Chester and Amber our readers who read the most books this term.

Have a super star holiday everyone!

Gymnastics, Swimming, Production and much much more

We have been so so very busy in VH Class.  We have had lots of fun balancing, bouncing and climbing in gymnastics.  We had our final session with Abe from Big Air on Wednesday.  It was astounding how much better and more flexible everybody got in just our eight sessions.

The air track was so much fun!

Swimming is well underway.  We have three more sessions at Ally Todd Swimming.  I have been so very very proud of all the kids improvement in their swimming technique.  We have some kids learning to tumble turn when they swim up to the end of a length, some have been practicing turning their head to breath without stopping and one has swum and floated for the first time without floating aids - major achievement.

Narrative writing and reading has been our focus over recent weeks.  Everyone has made such progress in writing imaginative stories all with reader grabbing beginnings, descriptive problems and clever and funny endings.  This week everyone has been involved in reader's theatre - which is acting and reading plays with expression.  We had fun sharing our plays with each other.

Maths has been fun.  Everyone has been working on learning and remembering our times tables, including division this week.  We have been playing lots of games including a fun moving around game called Multiplication Scoot.  It is so much fun solving multiplication problems around the classroom.

At the beginning of Term 4 we are having our Discovery School Production and Resolution Syndicate are well underway with their practices.  I hope they have begun talking with you about this fun fun event.  Over the holidays we hope that all the kids will organise their costumes for our music era - 1980s!
