Reading groups have been reading all about different types of food.  Two reading groups read stories about chocolate cake so we made one to share.

Shape Hunt

Today we had a chance to work together by cooperating in groups during maths time.
We know that....

Here we are creating a shape poster that shows different shapes and their corners and sides.

We worked together some more during maths by have a photo hunt of shapes around the school using the ipads.  Here are some of the shapes we found.

Friday Fun in VH

On Friday we had lots of fun enjoying watching plays some reading groups performed.

The kids read their plays well with good expression.

After lunch we shared how our first week has been during circle time.  Circle time provides valuable opportunities for VH kids to practice speaking and listening, social, turn-taking and team-building.  

It has been a great start to Term 3.  The kids have enjoyed sharing their holiday stories with each other and getting to know our two new friends who joined us this term.  Welcome Liam and Cooper!

We have started learning about our new topic which is 'Food for Energy' and have been enjoying yummy brain breaks at 10am each morning.  We get to have a little fruit snack to feed our brains to keep up our learning in the morning.  Here are some ideas for break break foods....

This week in maths we have started learning about shapes - especially 2D and 3D shapes.  We went on a shape hunt today around the school.  

This week we have also started learning about how to write a piece of persuasive writing.  Check out "In My Opinion" on our writing pages to the right on the blog :)
