Swimming

WOW - VH kids had a great swimming time at Ally Todd Swimming this term.  Their swimming skills improved immensely over their three week programme.

Uke Fun

Each Monday, Shane from Tui (The Ukulele Institute) comes in a shares his passion with kids at Discovery School.  On Monday VH kids joined in the fun.

Term 4 Chapter Book Challenge

What an amazing term of home reading.  I'm so very proud of VH kids this term with all their motivation in reading chapter books.  They read so many different and amazing adventures over the last term.

Transportation - Big Rig

Friday saw a visit by Jaysen.  He brought it his big rig cab to show us.  Boy it was big.  We found out that it has 10 wheels, a huge engine, sleeping quarters.  It needs to have a big engine to haul a huge, three storey trailer that can carry up to 8 cars.

We climbed up and looked through the cab.  It is so much bigger than our cars.  We estimated that it was at least 5 times taller than us.

Capacity

This week in capacity we used water to measure volume of a bucket.  The challenge was to count how many cups it took to fill a bucket.  VH kids used plastic cups and found that it took lots and lots.  They learnt it is hard to count when someone else was counting (we've all had that happen to us).  Loads of fun!
