This morning, along with lots of others around NZ, VH class and Discovery School practiced what to do in an Earthquake.
Here we are during the practise!
We did such a good job of being safe.
Wobble Wobble! Everybody in New Zealand has to be ready for an earthquake. You need an Earthquake Kit. If you don't have an Earthquake Kit you can't survive. You could die. You need lots of water. So that's why you need to be ready!

Bash! Bash! Take cover - it's an earthquake. In an earthquake you especially need a lot of water. Probably about 10 bottles. You should have three days of dried food to help your family survive and you also need a toilet roll, bucket and bag. You need to have an ice pack and sticking plasters. If somebody is sick you should give them a very warm blanket so they will get better. That's why you need to have an Earthquake Kit.

Shake! Shake! It's an earthquake. Boom! It's important to go like a turtle or go under a table. You will need a box of food in it. You might need some healthy food too. You need water and a torch. It really doesn't matter who holds the torch.

Quick! Quick. It's an earthquake! Go under a table and hold on to its leg. If you don't practice you might not be ready and you could die. It is important that you drop, cover and hold still. It's important to be very very safe.

Shake! Shake! Oh no, it is an earthquake! It is good to be ready for an earthquake because if your house gets broke you have an Earthquake Kit to help you survive the earthquake. In the Earthquake kit there needs to be bottles of water, dried food, blankets and torches. If your house has broken down it will take a long time to rebuild it. Be ready with an Earthquake Kit!

Bash! Bash! Earthquake! For an earthquake you need to have ready bottles of water and cans of food. You need toilet paper too. You need spare tissues. That's how to prepare for an earthquake.

Shake! Wobble! Crash! Get into a turtle shape - it's an earthquake! To be prepared for an earthquake you need lots of things to be safe and survive. The things you need are toilet paper because you won't be able to go to the toilet. Also you need water because you can't survive without water and you need food as well. Don't forget if you are still in your house you will have to have a torch because you won't have any electricity because the electricity has broken down. I hope you know how to be prepared - I hope you listened!

Shake! Shake! It's an earthquake. Drop, cover, hold! To be earthquake ready you needs lots of fresh water that can last for three days. It's really important to get dried food or tinned food before an earthquake happens. You also need toilet paper and a torch in case there's no electricity. To be safe you need to be ready.
