Cosmic Cosmodome

What an amazing experience this afternoon.  We visited the universe in our very own school hall.

Here are Riley, Lucy, Emma and Roald before we go into the Cosmodome.

The boys are very excited going into the dark cosmodome.

Mia learnt that a group of stars is called a constellation.  The stars can make pictures in the night sky. Matariki are blue stars - which means they are really really hot.

Finley learnt that the Matariki stars are a really small group of stars.  But they are new stars only about 100 million years old.
Kaitlyn learnt that the winter sky is different to the summer sky.
Tayne learnt that some star groups have special stories like Orion and the Scorpion.

It was really fun inside the Cosmodome.  Mr Fisher was a really cool teacher.  he knows so much about the stars.
